I liked the overall idea that certain molecules have become essential to make our daily lives easier. It also taught me that leaving projects to the last minute isn't such a great idea,
What challenges did you face in completing this project?
Throughout this project it was very difficult searching for credible information. Many times I would have to read quite a bit and connect the dots. Having an organic molecule made all the more difficult when it came to the calculations, especially for Hess's Law in Act 2.
What is one thing you would like to know more about your eMolecule?
One thing I would like to know about aspirin is if it could be used as fuel, to power things or any other use other than an NSAID.
What was the most interesting thing you learned about your eMolecule?
I learned that aspirin is nature occurring, instead of being man made. What really stuck with me is the fact that the organic groups within aspirin are mostly the cause for its effects.
What did your eMolecule teach you about Chemistry?
My emolecule taught me how to use the skills and the information I acquired in the lectures and use them for reaseach and directly apply that to things so essential to our lives. For a greater picture it made me realize that chemistry is all around us.
If you could do one experiment with your eMolecule, what would it be?
I would probably do a combustion experiment simply to see aspirin and oxygen form water and carbon dioxide.
